gavin edward Roberts gavinroberts@weber.edu, ASSISTANT PRofeSsor, department of economics, Weber State University
My research focuses broadly on energy and environmental economics and policy. My teaching interests include microeconomics, econometrics, environmental & resource economics, statistics, and game theory.
I began my career as an Energy Fundamentals Analyst at BENTEK Energy after earning a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from Metropolitan State University of Denver. I brought this experience when I entered the economics Ph.D. program at the University of Wyoming in the fall of 2012. My dissertation research involved the integration of petroleum-engineering knowledge into economic models of natural gas and crude oil extraction. I am currently an assistant professor of economics at Weber State University in the Goddard School of Business and Economics in Ogden, Utah. I love passing on knowledge of economics to my students using examples from my time as an energy analyst and using current events. I currently live in North Ogden, Utah with my beautiful wife Kerry, and our daughter Lucy. We enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and camping. We also love to cook (and eat)!
